The Frapol Onyx Passiv 2000 recuperator has air filters with a pocket filter structure. G4 and F7 filters of filtration class are fitted as standard to Frapol Onyx Passiv 2000 recuperation units. The exhaust air is filtered by a coarse G4 filter providing basic air filtration with an efficiency of 70% in retaining coarse particles, i.e. leaves, insects, hair, sand, ash, fine sand, plant spores, pollen and other impurities larger than 10 μm (micrometers). The air supplied to the rooms is filtered by a fine filter in the F7 class, which allows the capture of 65% of very fine particles from the air, i.e. larger bacteria, accumulated soot, cement dust and other impurities smaller than 2.5 μm (micrometers). The operation of replacing the set of air filters consists in taking out the set of filters and inserting new ones for the supply and exhaust air from the facility through the mechanical ventilation system. Products made of synthetic filter media in accordance with the rules of using air filters may not be washed (washed) under any circumstances. Cleaning with a vacuum cleaner or by tapping in order to extend the interval between replacing the elements responsible for air filtration in the air handling unit is also not recommended. This reduces the efficiency of the recuperator's operation and lowers the level of comfort of using the mechanical ventilation system. In the initial stage of re-operation of the filters so cleaned, they release some of the contaminants that remained inside the previously collected. Settling on the surface of the heat exchanger, fans and ventilation ducts and then getting into the rooms of the building. Resulting in the need to clean the mechanical ventilation system. Accelerated wear of the elements responsible for the ventilation process and the recovery of heat energy from the air in the recuperator and increasing the amount of electricity consumed through the recuperation unit used.
